What viewer is used to view your CD-ROM content?
- All of the CD-ROMs we offer use the Adobe Acrobat Reader(R), which is a
copyrighted product of Adobe Systems Incorporated. Acrobat Reader is available
free of charge for a large variety of platforms. Our current release includes
the latest versions for Macintosh and Windows on the CD-ROM, itself.
What are the system requirements to use the CD-ROM with my Macintosh?
- Macintosh computer with 68020 (Macintosh II series) or greater processor
(including all Power Macintosh Computers)
- MacOS 7.0 or later
- 3300 KB application RAM for 680x0-based Macintosh or Power Macintosh with
Virtual Memory turned on; 5227 KB for Power Macintosh with Virtual Memory
turned off
- 8 MB hard disk space, plus 4.4 MB additional temporary disk space available
during installation
- For viewing PDF files inside a Web browser, Netscape Navigator 3.0 or later
(3.0.1 or later recommended) You may be able to use other Web browsers that
fully support the Netscape APIs.
What are the system requirements to use the CD-ROM with my Windows-based
PC?
- x86-based personal computer (486, Pentium, Pentium Pro,
Pentium II, Pentium 3 or Pentium 4 recommended)
- Microsoft Windows 95/98/Me, Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP
- 4 MB application RAM
- 5 MB hard disk space, plus 7 MB additional temporary disk space available
during installation
- For viewing PDF files inside of a Web browser: Netscape Navigator 3.0 or
later (3.0.1 or later recommended) including the Netscape Navigator 4.0
component of Netscape Communicator 4.0 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or
later. (Netscape Navigator 2.0.2 can also be used with limitations; e.g. it
will not allow you to submit a PDF form. You may also be able to use other Web
browsers that FULLY support the Netscape APIs.)
Do your CD-ROMs contain text or actual images?
- Unless otherwise stated, our CD-ROMs capture the original images from the
cited volumes. These volumes are fully bookmarked for easy navigation and are
almost always fully indexed.
Can I print the images?
- Yes, you can print a single page, a range of pages or a full reprint of the
CD-ROM content by printing to your local printer. Most images will print at 300
dpi.
I would like to capture a portion of a screen image to use in another
publishing program. How can I do that?
- Solutions exist for both the Macintosh and Windows. Our latest CD-ROM
includes copies of try-before-you-buy software for both system environments. If
you like the capture utility, you can register the software for $25. For
